Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a child she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma had a dream to become an actor since she was six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute that offers part-time classes. By the age of ten she was performing and taking the lead in various Stagecoach productions and school plays. Casting began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after auditions of 8. They were selected as the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film set records for beginning-day and weekend-opening sales as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. Critics have praised both the film and the performance by three young actors. The widely distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five awards for the film.
